Your Audition

Are you ready to audition for admission and consideration for scholarships? Here’s information about auditioning for The New York Conservatory’s actor training programs.

Summer Intensive Training Programs

Summer program auditions are conducted or by video submission. If you are ready to submit your audition video, you can send the video file or post your video on YouTube and send the link to admissions@nycda.edu with “Summer Audition – Your Name” in the subject line.  Please choose your preferred program below to learn about the audition requirements:

Film & Television Acting

Please prepare a contemporary (1950s-present), one-minute monologue that suits you. It should be from a published play, tv show or film. We recommend you are familiar with the full piece to fully understand the character you are portraying.

Musical Theatre

Please prepare a contemporary (1950s-present), one-minute monologue that suits you. It should be from a published play, tv show or film. We recommend you are familiar with the full piece to fully understand the character you are portraying. Please also prepare a 32-bar cut of a Musical Theatre song.
