International Students

The New York Conservatory welcomes students to join us from around the world. In any year, around 15% of our student body are non-resident international students. Our international admissions team works closely with each student step-by-step through the admissions and visa process and both Student Services and our international student community help new international students settle in and feel at home in New York City.

To complete enrollment, international students must submit a credential evaluation (with English translation) of high school transcripts/secondary school leaving certificate/diploma. The evaluation must indicate that the student has received the equivalency of a U.S. high school diploma.

It is encouraged you check in with the International Admissions Team by contacting international@nycda.edu, before moving forward with this process.

Applicants can use any of the following credential evaluation services:

What Our International Students Say

Discover firsthand experiences from our international students as they share their journeys, challenges, and successes. Learn how our supportive community and resources have helped them thrive academically and personally.

The teaching is amazing, but also the administrative part, because the international students have to deal with a bit more. I felt really comfortable just asking questions all the time.

The amount of things that are put into the Musical Theater curriculum, like actor’s lab to Meisner to Improv, I just figured this is where I really need to be because they’re going to teach me everything I need to know to put myself in the industry.

It was a fantastic time I had here – with all my teachers, and with the friends I made here. And, just to be able to study in New York: learning from working professionals, and being able to go watch a musical or watch a play and see the things that I was learning being applied right there in front of me and see how everything connects.
