The Jay Goldenberg Legacy Scholarship for International Students

Open to all International Students

This annual scholarship honors living legend and Director of Education Emeritus of The New York Conservatory for Dramatic Arts, Jay Goldenberg, whose passion for nurturing creativity and talent in others has shaped a unique approach to storytelling.   

The scholarship includes three full-time terms* of study. The award will be given to a non-matriculated student to study for two academic years starting in Fall 2025.

*Scholarship winners will pay for their initial semester’s tuition ONLY. The New York Conservatory for Dramatic Arts Foundation will pay for their remaining three semesters to achieve their Associates Degree if all requirements are met.

2025 Scholarship Dates

  • Application materials are due by March 7, 2025.
  • Recipients will be notified by email by or before April 11, 2025.
  • To accept the offer, recipients should redeem the scholarship by placing their enrollment deposit by May 1, 2025.

Candidate Requirements

  • Must be 18 years or older by the start of the 2025 Fall semester
  • Intend to study in New York starting Fall 2025, if selected
  • Eligible students wishing to apply should have a 3.0 minimum GPA (85/100) and must maintain a 3.5 GPA throughout their studies at the Conservatory.

To be fully considered for a legacy scholarship, each applicant must submit the following by March 7, 2025:

  • Any incomplete applications will be disqualified.
  • Application deadlines are strict; do not apply later or your application will not be considered.
  • After we receive your completed application, you will receive a confirmation receipt email.
  • Housing, books, and materials are not included with the scholarship. Scholarship recipients will need to cover the costs associated with their housing arrangements.
  • If you are selected as a scholarship finalist, you will be interviewed via Zoom.
