Tuition and Budgeting

Once enrolled, New York Conservatory students who continue directly to their second year benefit from a tuition freeze. No annual tuition increases will be applied to returning second-year students, unless they have taken a gap year.

Understanding Your Student Expenses

Every student’s expenses are unique. Indirect costs are estimated for budgetary purposes only. While tuition and fees remain fixed, living costs can vary based on personal choices and lifestyle.

Plan Ahead: We encourage families to factor in housing, meals, transportation, and personal expenses when creating a financial plan.

Get a Personalized Cost Estimate

Use our Net Price Calculator to estimate your total costs and financial aid eligibility.

Our dorm is a 30 minute walk, 12 minute bicycle ride, or 3 train stops from NYCDA’s campus. The MTA cost for ten 30-day unlimited MetroCards for subway or bus is $1,320, and a CitiBike membership costs $219.99 per year.

Determining Financial Need

In developing a student’s financial aid award package, we begin by constructing a budget based on the estimated cost of education for the academic year, including tuition, supplies, and living expenses. A student’s need for financial assistance is defined as the difference between the estimated cost of attendance and the student’s available resources.
