Students 16 years of age or older can simply register for one of our 4-week summer programs in acting or musical theater. No application is necessary. A non-refundable $400.00 tuition deposit is required to secure your place in the summer session of your choice.

We encourage all students and parents to contact the Office of Admission and discuss whether the summer program is the right fit for you prior to submitting the registration form and tuition deposit at 212 645 0030.

Registration Process

  • Summer Acting Training Program

Registration to our Summer Acting Training Program is open to all domestic and international students who will be at least 16 years of age by the start of the program. To register for the 4-week summer program please complete the registration form and submit your $400 non-refundable tuition deposit. Students may also audition for scholarship awards. Please contact an admissions representative for further details.

    Optional Master Class: Musical Theater
Students participating in the Summer Acting Training Program have the option of taking a Musical Theater Master Class. Taught by casting director Jay Binder, who has run the casting for more than fifty Broadway shows, this intense workshop focuses on vocal technique, interpretation, and musical performance. Classes are small and each student receives plenty of one-on-one coaching.

International summer students must obtain an F-1 student visa. NYCDA is authorized to issue form I-20 through the Student Exchange and Visitor Information System (SEVIS).

As part of the I-20 process, international summer students must provide proof of (1) a valid passport, (2) fluency and literacy in English, and (3) sufficient funds to complete the program, including travel expenses, living expenses, and tuition. Upon receipt and review of this information, NYCDA will process an I-20 for the applicant.

The student must then apply for a visa at the American Embassy or Consulate in their country of citizenship (NOTE: Citizens of Canada, Bermuda or residents of certain other islands described in 8 CFR 212.1(a), generally do not need a visa.) F-1 students in the Summer Acting Training Program are not permitted to work off campus or to engage in any kind of business in the United States.
